3 Tips for Amazing Sales Incentives that Get Results
Oftentimes, the sales team is one of the most important aspects of a company that needs to sell goods in order to be successful (which is a good amount of companies). Most members of a sales team will be naturals to some extent, but at some point, you’ll need to motivate them and incentive them to get top performing numbers. Here are a few ways that you can get great sales numbers from your team.
This is probably one of the common ways to motivate a sales person. Give them a certain base number to reach and then when they exceed that number offer them a bonus based on their performance. The bonus can be a tiered system or it can be a percentage of the overage that they achieve.
Having a special outing if the team as a whole reaches their goal is a good way to get an entire department to work together. Set the goal and when they reach it, offer them a night out on the town or dinner at an upscale restaurant. Or take it a step further with a team travel package. A team reward encourages less competition and more teamwork.
However, it’s long been shown that salespeople are pretty competitive people; so offering a competition between the staff can encourage high numbers. Offer rewards for first, second and third place and let your team fight it out to see who comes out on top.
Offering your sales team the proper incentives is an important part of motivating them to aspire to reach the goals your company needs to meet in order to succeed.
